Route-to-market coverage for Nigeria

Find the neighbourhoods your distributors do not reach.

Kubinu Reach puts your outlets, distributors and monthly sales on a grid of where people live, and shows the white space by area and by distributor, every month.

Every workspace starts as a 14-day evaluation on sample data.

  • Outlets you serve
  • People in reach of one
  • People in reach of none

Illustration. Each square stands for one cell of about 0.1 km².

The question

How many people live out of reach of every outlet you serve?

You know what each distributor sold last month. Your sales-force and distributor systems cannot say which neighbourhoods have people and no served outlet, how much of its territory a distributor really covers, or where two distributors overlap while another area is nobody's. They only hold the outlets already on the list.

What you see

One month of coverage, from three sides.

01

A map of who is in reach

Your outlets on a grid of cells about 350 metres across, shaded by the number of people with no active outlet within reach. Territories are drawn as LGA outlines, with overlaps marked.

02

White-space zones, ranked

Neighbourhoods where people live out of reach of every active outlet, grouped into zones and ranked by the number of people. Each zone names its LGA, the distributor whose territory it is in and the nearest outlet you do serve.

03

A scorecard for each distributor

The share of its territory's people in reach, its active outlets and its sales, with a service index: its share of your sales against its territory's share of the population.

How it works

From your lists to a monthly brief in four steps.

  1. 01

    Request a workspace

Tell us who you are and which states you sell in. Kubinu staff open a 14-day evaluation workspace with sample data, so you can open every screen before you send anything.

  2. 02

    Upload your lists

Distributors with their LGAs, outlets with a GPS position each, and one sales file per month, as CSV or Excel. Your headers are matched to ours, and every row we cannot take is listed with the reason.

  3. 03

    Run the month

Reach works out who lives within reach of an outlet you billed, in a straight line, and groups everyone else into white-space zones. A run starts by itself when a sales file is saved.

  4. 04

    Act on the white space

Read the ranked zones and the distributor scorecards, print the monthly brief, and send supervisors to the zones nearest them on their phones.

What you need to bring

Lists you already keep.

No new survey and no new system. Exports from your sales-force or distributor system are enough to start. Rep visits and an outlet census are optional.

  • Distributors

One row per distributor, with the LGAs it is meant to serve. Send this list first.

  • Outlets

One row per outlet you serve, with its GPS position and the distributor that serves it.

  • Monthly sales

What each outlet was billed in one month. One file per month; rows for the same outlet are added together.

  • Rep visits

Optional. One row per sales-rep visit in a month, for strike rate and journey plan adherence.

  • Outlet census

Optional. Outlets known to exist from a census or a field sweep, whether you serve them or not.

What it costs

Plans

Kubinu Reach is sold as a subscription per state per month. Every workspace starts as a 14-day evaluation on sample data and runs on a plan after that.

Price on request

The price depends on the states you sell in. Tell us which they are and we will send a quote.

The data behind it

Open data, named and dated.

People come from WorldPop's 2025 modelled estimates, boundaries from OCHA, mapped markets from GRID3 and the base map from OpenStreetMap. Distance to an outlet is a straight line, so no figure you export depends on a road map. Every map and file names its sources, and the limits are written down.

Questions

Asked before a first workspace.

What is an evaluation workspace?

A workspace that Kubinu staff open for you for 14 days, filled with data that is plainly labelled sample, so you can open every screen before you send us anything. When it ends it is read-only for 14 days and then locks, unless you move to a plan.

What do we need to send you?

Three lists, as CSV or Excel: your distributors with the LGAs each one serves, your outlets with a GPS position for each, and one sales file per month with the value billed to each outlet. A file of sales-rep visits and an outlet census are optional. We do not take BVNs, NINs, phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth or owners' names.

What counts as in reach?

A person is in reach when an outlet you billed that month lies within 500 metres of the centre of the 350-metre cell they live in, measured in a straight line. Rivers, walls and roads are ignored. You can change the distance in your workspace's settings.

Where do the population figures come from?

From WorldPop's modelled estimates for Nigeria, 2025, version 3.0. They are estimates, not a head count. The sources page lists every dataset with its licence and its date.

Can a distributor see another distributor's figures?

No. A distributor's login sees its own outlets, its own sales and the ground that it alone covers. Supervisors see the white-space zones on their distributor's ground and never see naira figures.

What does the service index tell us?

It compares two shares: a distributor's share of your sales and its territory's share of the population. Under 0.8 reads as under-serving and over 1.25 as ahead of its population, and both thresholds are yours to change. It does not say how much a territory should sell in naira.

Who can see our data?

The people you invite, each within the role you give them. Kubinu staff open a workspace only through a support session with a stated reason. It shows a banner on every page and is written to your audit log.

How do we pay?

By invoice, in naira, per state per month. Prices exclude VAT.
